KEY STAGE 1
(Kindergarten to Year 2)
At 3 years of age the child is initiated
into schooling through fun filled activities, within the framework
of Curriculum. Our endeavour is to
make learning exciting and pressure free in a safe, secure
and happy environment making the transition from home to school
an easy one.
The programme is geared for developing self-esteem,
social and interactive skills, in addition to the basic cognitive
and motor abilities. Learning takes place directly through
formal teaching and individually through an activity-based
programme that includes ICT (Information and Communication
Technology). Emphasis is also laid on the development of communication focusing on enhancing skills in reading, speaking and
listening.
The Kindergarten children are suitably prepared
for literacy and numeracy methods. Well-graded writing patterns
follow a comprehensive foundation-building programme based
on group activities.
In Year 1 and Year 2, the core curriculum
includes English, Mathematics and Environmental Studies,
Computer Studies. Moral
Instruction, Art, Music and Physical Education are also taught
as extra curricular activities.
